Coding with the micro:bit

A hands-on coding course where students bring their programs to life by creating interactive, real-world projects using the micro:bit.

Platform:

Micro:bit, Microsoft MakeCode

AGES 9 - 11

Suitable for learners aged 9 - 11.

Beginner - Intermediate

Prerequisites: None

COURSE LENGTH

10 Hours | 5 Days

Course INFORMATION

Take the next step in your coding journey with our hands-on course that bridges the gap between programming and the physical world. Using the BBC micro:bit V2 alongside Scratch and Microsoft MakeCode, you will be able to build on your block programming foundations to create projects you can hold, wear, and interact with. Through exciting hardware-based projects, discover how code written on a computer can bring real-world devices to life.

Learning Outcomes

Learn to program physical hardware using visual code while exploring how sensors, inputs, and outputs work together. Practice building projects that respond to movement, light, and button presses, and discover the fundamentals of IoT (Internet of Things) by connecting their code to the world around you. The course also strengthens your problem-solving skills as you learn to plan, prototype, and debug projects that combine software and hardware.

What You'll Get

Certificate of Completion

Receive an official certificate recognising your achievement and participation.

Take-Home Project
